Blanket – Marin & Pilaster Melange

A plaid/blanket from Stackelberg is mainly woven from mohair wool – a soft, silky sheen and entirely natural material, with a beautiful luster. Our plaidsare produced in South Africa with wool from free ranging goats, sourced from local farms. Extra care is taken to ensure the best treatment of both goats and wool, especially during the sheering process, with a great respect for the material. All dyeing is Oeko-tex certified.

One of the Stackelberg plaids main features is the rolled fringe. It gives the plaid an extra nice finish and on our most exclusive plaids it is done entirely by hand. When the plaids are fully woven, they are brushed up to get a soft and light feeling. Should some brushed wool fall off, it’s only a natural part of the manufacturing process. Use a mohair brush and simply brush the plaid, then ventilate and shake it in fresh air and the excess wool will disappear.

If you use your plaid frequently, the brushed fibers may contract slightly. You can easily get the plaid almost as new again by using a mohair brush, or even more simple, use a regular dish or clothing brush.

Should you get a stain on your plaid, simply remove the stain with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Press the damp cloth against the stain until it dissolves. We don’t recommend to wash your plaid, but instead air it occasionally. Should you need to wash it, it should be dry cleaned.
